Amazon's New Kindles Offer Slight Refinements Over Previous Models
Amazon has released new Kindle e-readers, including the Basic, Paperwhite, and Colorsoft models. The Signature editions are also available for the Paperwhite and Colorsoft devices.
The new Kindles have a slightly changed shape and a relocated power button, which is no longer located at the bottom edge of the device. This change has been welcomed by many users who found the previous location annoying.
One of the most significant improvements in the new Kindle models is the page-turning feature. For high-end devices, Amazon has introduced a pogo-pin adaptor that allows for page-turning and charging. Additionally, an Amazon-branded Bluetooth page-turning clicker is available as an option.
The inclusion of USB-C remains supported on all new Kindle models. The improvements to the page-turning feature may reduce the need for users to jailbreak their devices.
