Amazon's Prime Fiasco Jeopardizes Mutiny's Box Office Hopes

A costly mistake by Amazon has put Jason Statham's action thriller 'Mutiny' at risk of financial fallout. The film was accidentally made available on Prime Video for several hours, just days before its scheduled theatrical release.

According to Deadline, the movie appeared on Prime Video after it was mistakenly posted on the product detail page, which normally displays trailers.

The incident has reportedly angered international buyers and cinema chains. Mutiny is a $50 million-plus net production, while Lionsgate paid an eight-figure sum for the movie.

Distributors are concerned about the potential impact on theatrical revenues, especially since the film had already opened well in France and the Middle East before the mistake became known.
