Amazon's Prime Video Drama 'House of David' Concludes With Third Season
Amazon's Prime Video has announced that its epic Biblical drama 'House of David' will be concluding with its third season. The show, which has been building a large audience over the past two years, reportedly drew in 22 million U.S. viewers in its first 17 days and surpassed 44 million worldwide.
The series was always intended to be a trilogy, according to co-creators Jon Erwin and Jon Gunn, who stated that they conceived David's story as a three-part narrative from the start.
House of David has been praised for its broad appeal, with creators citing influences such as 'The Lord of the Rings' and 'Star Wars.' The show's success is part of a growing trend in faith-driven entertainment, with other shows like 'The Chosen' continuing to attract large audiences.
