Amazon's Rebound Continues as AI Ambitions Ignite $3 Trillion Hopes
Amazon's stock price has rebounded from its slump, trading around $216-$217 per share as of October 14, 2025. The company has made significant strides in AI development, including the launch of Alexa+, a new generative AI voice assistant built into four new Echo devices.
The settlement with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) regarding Amazon's Prime membership practices has also removed a major overhang for the stock. Amazon agreed to pay $2.5 billion to settle the probe, including $1.5 billion in customer refunds. Analysts considered this deal a 'major overhang' that was finally lifted.
Despite these developments, Amazon's stock price is still down about 9% from its record high of around $242 reached in early February. The company's AI ambitions and cloud growth are expected to drive its future performance, with some analysts predicting a market valuation of $3 trillion in the coming years if it capitalizes on these areas.
