AMD Claims Venice CPUs Outperform Nvidia's Vera by Over Two Times

AMD has released official benchmarks for its EPYC 'Venice' CPUs, targeting Nvidia's performance in high-end server applications. In a new white paper, AMD claims that its 256-core Venice chip is more than twice as fast as Nvidia's Vera in SPEC CPU 2026's Integer Rate test.

The company also provided detailed benchmarks for a 96-core Venice model, which it says is around 20% faster per-core than Nvidia's 88-core Vera. This performance gain comes from the improved architecture and increased core count of AMD's EPYC 'Zen 2' design.

AMD extended its performance claims for its upcoming generation of server chips with this new white paper, providing a more detailed look at the Venice CPUs' capabilities. The company is positioning itself as a strong competitor to Nvidia in the high-end server market with these latest benchmarks.
