AMD has announced that its Helios AI rack has entered full production and will begin shipping to customers by the end of the third quarter of 2026. This comes as Microsoft has committed to deploying the system 'at scale' across Azure, with volume supply ramping up in the fourth quarter to meet demand stretching into 2027.

The Helios rack is built around 72 MI455X GPUs and paired with EPYC 9006 SP7 'Venice' CPUs and AMD Pensando networking. It offers improved performance compared to Nvidia's Vera Rubin NVL72 system, including a +15% peak FP4, +50% HBM capacity, +6% HBM bandwidth, and +50% scale-out bandwidth.

Pricing has not been officially listed, but industry estimates put a fully configured Helios rack at between $5 million and $5.5 million. This represents a significant investment for customers, but one that is expected to be worthwhile given the improved performance and efficiency offered by the Helios rack.
