American Airlines to Build Largest Admirals Club at Charlotte Airport
American Airlines is set to build its largest Admirals Club lounge at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT), spanning an impressive 40,000 square feet. The new facility will replace outdated lounges and serve as an upgrade for the carrier’s second-busiest hub. Construction is scheduled to begin later this year, with existing clubs remaining open during the work.
The new Admirals Club will be located on the mezzanine level of CLT’s central atrium, providing easy access from concourses A, B, and C, though with a moderate walking distance to concourse D. The lounge will feature modern amenities, including shower suites, bars, and expanded seating areas. While an opening date has not been announced, American Airlines confirmed that the two current lounges will stay operational throughout the construction phase.
This project is part of a broader 2025 pledge to enhance CLT’s lounge footprint, which also includes the addition of a Flagship Lounge and a Provisions grab-and-go outpost. The airport is experiencing a surge in lounge expansions, with Capital One and American Express also planning new locations, alongside Delta’s recently opened Sky Club.
