American Airlines Unveils New Business Class Suites on Boeing 777-300ER
Today marks the launch of American Airlines' new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, featuring 70 business class suites with doors. This upgrade comes as part of the airline's 'Project Olympus' retrofit program, which aims to modernize their premium products.
The first retrofitted plane, N718AN, has entered commercial service on flight AA953 from New York JFK to Buenos Aires. The new aircraft boasts a significant increase in business class and premium economy seats, with 70 suites and 44 premium economy seats respectively.
American Airlines will stop selling first class on Boeing 777-300ERs for travel effective November 19, 2026, and on premium transcon routes beginning March 28, 2027. Customers booked in first class after these dates will be automatically refunded the fare difference and eligible for a full refund if they prefer not to travel.
