American Express has been making headlines recently due to reports of credit line cuts. One cardholder, who claims he's a 44-year customer since 1982, said his Platinum card's unlimited credit line was reduced after he tried to spend $5,000.

The cardholder, identified as Joe from Georgia, stated that the company told him the cut was due to a 'systematic update' because of the current credit market. He claimed people are not paying their bills and the economy is struggling.

However, an American Express spokesperson said that the company regularly reviews card member accounts and may adjust credit limits based on various factors as part of normal business. The bank stated that card members are notified of changes and can call to request a review.

An influencer named Kevin Kunze, who posts as EcomSideHustle, also shared his experience with American Express, claiming they slashed limits on his nine business cards. He spent $6 million to $15 million per year on the cards and paid the full statement balance every month.
