American Express Snubs Lord Sugar's Credit Limit Request
Lord Sugar has expressed frustration at American Express after being refused an increased credit limit despite his estimated £1.138 billion fortune.
The 79-year-old businessman, best known for fronting The Apprentice, spent over an hour on the phone with American Express trying to get his spending limit raised.
Sugar was transferred between four different representatives before eventually speaking to someone in Brighton who recognized him and his financial position.
Despite this, his request was refused due to 'their system', prompting Sugar to take his frustration public on X.
In a characteristically blunt response, Sugar explained that he doesn't carry large amounts of cash around and needs a credit card for basic purchases, just like anyone else.
