American Express Unveils Limited-Edition Mirror Design for Japanese Platinum Card

American Express is introducing a limited-edition Mirror Design for its Platinum Card and American Express Business Platinum Card in Japan. The Mirror Design, which was introduced in the US in September 2025, will be available to existing cardmembers who can switch during an offer period that began on September 30 and runs through February 1, 2027. An issuance fee of 7,700 yen (including tax) applies for the new design.

The revamped Platinum Card offers enhanced benefits, including a complimentary one-night stay at premium hotels in Japan, with an additional night depending on card usage. It also provides an Airline Credit worth 100,000 yen and Global Dining Cashback, offering a 50% rebate on spending at over 2,000 eligible restaurants in 16 countries.

The Business Platinum Card offers similar benefits, including access to Fine Hotels + Resorts, Centurion Lounges, and the Platinum Secretary Service. Existing cardmembers can also take advantage of supplementary cards for employees and enjoy premium hotel stays and airline credits upon renewal.
