Amex Backs Global Small Restaurants with Record Funding

American Express and the International Downtown Association Foundation (IDA) have launched this year's Backing International Small Restaurants grants program, marking its fifth anniversary. The initiative aims to support over 100 independent restaurants across nine countries with more than $1.5 million in funding.

The program has expanded to include Italy for the first time, offering new opportunities for small restaurants in the country. Applications are open through November 16, 2026.
