Amex Boosts Gold Card Rewards with Hotel and Dining Perks
American Express has revamped its Gold Card, offering enhanced rewards and benefits to cardholders. The updated card now provides 5X Membership Rewards points on prepaid hotel stays booked through Amex Travel.
This new perk is in addition to the existing 4X points at restaurants and U.S. supermarkets, which are capped annually. Dining credits have also been expanded to include $120 annually at Grubhub, Resy, and Dunkin', as well as $120 in Uber Cash.
The card's annual fee remains $325, with welcome bonuses up to 100,000 points available for new cardholders. The Hertz Five Star status is now complimentary, but requires enrollment.
As with the previous version, benefits require enrollment and are subject to terms. Cardholders can use Pay It and Plan It features for flexible payments, while travel protections and no foreign transaction fees remain unchanged.
