Amex Boosts Transfer Ratios for Indian Cardholders

American Express has revised its transfer ratios for Indian cardholders sending points to Virgin Atlantic and Hilton Honors. The new rates are more favorable, with transfers yielding 60% more Virgin points and 67% more Hilton points.

The change is effective immediately, and it applies to all Indian Amex cardmembers. Previously, 1,000 Membership Rewards points converted to only 500 Virgin Atlantic points and 900 Hilton Honors points. Now, the same amount of points converts to 800 Virgin Atlantic points and 1,500 Hilton Honors points.

This move is seen as a positive development for Indian travelers holding Amex Membership Rewards points. While it does not guarantee better redemptions, it gives them more flexibility when redeeming their points.
