Amex Cards Now Accepted at Over 190 Million Merchant Locations Worldwide

American Express has announced that its cards are now accepted at over 190 million merchant locations worldwide, representing an increase of approximately 20 million locations this year.

This milestone reflects decades of investment in expanding American Express' global network and serving more merchants around the world. According to Anna Marrs, Group President, Global Merchant & Network Services, 'This milestone reflects decades of investment in expanding our global network so we can serve more Merchants around the world and connect them with our high-spending Card Members.'

American Express has been able to expand its acceptance through partnerships with global payment platforms, licensed partners, and local acquirers. The company has also strengthened acceptance in locations where card members spend their time, including major travel destinations and cities that host global sporting events.
