AmEx Credit Cards Now Accepted at Over 190 Million Merchant Locations Worldwide

American Express has expanded its global reach as credit card acceptance tops 190 million merchant locations worldwide.

This milestone marks a significant increase from four years ago, when AmEx's acceptance outside of the US had more than doubled.

The company's push to strengthen acceptance in key international markets is aimed at addressing a long-standing gap with rival card networks Visa and Mastercard.

AmEx has focused on expanding acceptance in locations where its card members spend their time, including popular travel destinations such as Barcelona, Hong Kong, Paris, and Sicily.
