Amex Cuts Milestone Rewards for Indian Platinum Travel Card Holders

American Express has made a significant change to its Platinum Travel Card rewards program in India. Starting September 10, 2026, cardholders will no longer earn as many Membership Rewards (MR) points at certain milestones.

The ₹1.9 lakh milestone will now only reward 7,500 MR points, down from the previous amount. The ₹4 lakh milestone remains unchanged at 10,000 points.

The biggest change is at the ₹7 lakh spend level, where cardholders used to earn 22,500 MR points. Instead, they will receive a ₹20,000 Taj Experiences e-Gift Card.
