American Express has announced changes to its Platinum Travel Credit Card in India. The card is losing a substantial chunk of its milestone Membership Rewards points, and lounge access will now require quarterly spending. The INR 1.9 lakh milestone, which previously offered 7,500 bonus Membership Rewards points, has been removed entirely.

The INR 4 lakh milestone remains unchanged, with cardmembers still receiving 10,000 bonus Membership Rewards points when they reach this threshold in a membership year.

The INR 7 lakh milestone has also changed. Instead of offering 22,500 bonus Membership Rewards points, cardmembers will now receive an INR 20,000 Taj Experiences e-Gift Card at this level.
