American Express cardholders in India are facing changes to their rewards and benefits. The company will discontinue its Check Your Spending Power feature from September 16, 2026. This feature allows cardholders to check if a planned purchase is likely to be approved before making the transaction.

The Emergency Card Replacement service will also end on October 8, providing expedited delivery of replacement cards when an eligible replacement is required. Cardholders can still get replacement cards through the standard process after this service is withdrawn.

American Express is also revising rewards and lounge benefits on its Platinum Travel Credit Card. The Reward Multiplier programme will be discontinued from September 30, 2026. This programme allows cardholders to earn additional Membership Rewards points when making purchases through participating brands and platforms.
