Amex Expands Canadian Lounge Presence with New Calgary and Montreal Locations
American Express has expanded its lounge presence in Canada by opening two new Aspire Amex Lounges, one in Calgary and another in Montreal. The Calgary lounge launched on September 16, 2026, while the Montreal location is expected to open by early 2027. This adds to the existing lounge in Montreal that was first introduced in 2025.
The Calgary lounge is located in the domestic terminal, providing a new space for eligible Amex cardholders who can access priority entry and enhanced dining. In contrast, the Montreal location will cater specifically to transborder departures, complementing the existing domestic-area lounge.
This expansion is part of American Express's strategy to partner with Swissport's Aspire rather than building proprietary Centurion Lounges in Canada. This approach maintains broader public access while reserving premium perks for cardholders who meet specific annual spending thresholds.
