Amex Expands Support for Independent Restaurants Globally

American Express and the International Downtown Association Foundation are celebrating five years of their Backing International Small Restaurants grants program.

The program provides funding to independent restaurants in nine countries, including Italy for the first time this year.

In its fifth anniversary year, the program is awarding over $1.5 million in grants to more than 100 restaurants across nine countries.

The program has already provided over $3.2 million in grants to more than 230 restaurants since its inception in 2022.
