Amex GBT Names Esquibel as New CTO Amid Tech Strategy Shift

American Express Global Business Travel (GBT) has appointed Michael Esquibel as its new Chief Technology Officer. In this role, Esquibel will oversee technology and AI strategies for the company.

Esquibel brings eight years of experience with Amex GBT to his new position. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President of Technology and Platform Engineering.

In his new role, Esquibel aims to embed AI across the company, strengthen data infrastructure, and develop AI tools for both operational efficiency at the TMC and the travel experience.
