Amex Overhauls Aeroplan Cards with Higher Fees and More Perks
Amex has revamped its Aeroplan co-brand card portfolio in Canada. The changes take effect on January 12, 2027. Among the updates are new Air Canada savings and expanded lounge access for premium Reserve cards.
The annual fee for both the American Express Aeroplan Reserve Card and the American Express Aeroplan Business Reserve Card will increase from $599 to $799. This change applies to a cardmember's first annual fee billing date after January 12, 2027.
New benefits include up to $100 annually in Air Canada travel savings through the AC wallet, along with a 15% discount on Air Canada flight rewards when redeeming points.
Cardmembers will also gain access to an expanded Worldwide Maple Leaf Lounge network and complimentary Priority Pass lounge passes. Additionally, they'll receive dedicated priority security lanes at select airports worldwide for themselves and up to eight companions traveling on the same reservation.
