Amex Resy Credit Benefit Shifts: Only Eligible Restaurants Qualify for Statement Credits
The American Express Gold and Platinum cards' Resy credit benefit has undergone a change. Effective August 1st, 2026, the statement credit will only be applied to restaurants marked as eligible at the time of purchase. Amex assures that no Resy venues are being removed from the program.
However, this shift creates uncertainty for cardholders, who may not know if a restaurant is eligible until after payment. To address this issue, Nextcard has updated its Resy map to include a filter showing restaurants on Resy that are currently not eligible for the credit.
The tool allows users to select 'Not Eligible' in the search bar and instantly view locations that do not qualify for the benefit. According to Nextcard, there are approximately 200 ineligible locations nationwide, with most being fair game for cardholders.
This development provides a valuable resource for diners, enabling them to plan their meals accordingly and avoid potential disappointment. Amex's addition of a Resy Credit eligible badge on venues' pages is also expected to provide clarity in the future.
