AmEx Stock Up 1.2% as Platinum Refresh Continues to Drive Growth
American Express stock has risen by 1.2% over the past week, following the company's reaffirmation of its confidence at the Barclays Global Financial Services Conference.
The management team pointed to first-half 2026 revenue growth of 10%, and a full-year revenue outlook of roughly 10%. They kept earnings-per-share guidance at $17.30 to $17.90, which investors have grown accustomed to as AmEx consistently delivers.
CEO Steve Squeri has emphasized that the Platinum Card refresh takes time to show its full benefits, and now over a year after its rollout, card fee revenue is accelerating, with retention rates on the repriced U.S. Platinum portfolio staying flat year-over-year even after a $200 fee increase.
