Amgen Data Breach Exposes Patient Protected Health Information
A multinational biopharmaceutical company Amgen Inc. has confirmed that patient protected health information and proprietary company data were stolen in a data breach.
The incident occurred in July 2026 when unauthorized activity was detected involving data stored in cloud environments hosted by third-party service providers.
Amgen's cybersecurity response plan was activated, containment measures initiated, and forensic experts engaged to investigate the breach.
The investigation confirmed that attackers had exfiltrated data from the cloud environments, including patient protected health information and proprietary company data.
