Amgen Expands Indian Research Footprint with New Hyderabad Center
Global biotech firm Amgen is expanding its research capabilities in India by setting up a new Science and Innovation Center in Hyderabad's Genome Valley by 2027. This follows the company's previous investment in a technology hub launched in HITEC City in February 2025, which received a $200 million commitment.
The new facility will work alongside Amgen's existing global research network to combine experimental science with digital data and advanced technology, aiming to speed up research initiatives that support the company's drug development pipeline. With a total debt load of $57.3 billion, investors are monitoring the company's ability to balance its financial obligations with ongoing investments in drug discovery.
Amgen recently reported strong financial results for the second quarter of 2026, with revenue crossing $10 billion, representing a 10% increase compared to the previous year. The company has a solid cash position of $14 billion as of June 30, 2026.
