Amgen Expands Research Network with New Center in Hyderabad
US-based biotech major Amgen is expanding its global research and development network by opening a new science and innovation center at Genome Valley in Hyderabad, India.
The new center, expected to be operational in 2027, will become part of Amgen's global R&D network of seven research laboratories.
Amgen's executive vice president of research and development, Jay Bradner, said the new center will complement the company's existing GCC (Genome Valley Center) in Hyderabad and enable closer integration of laboratory-based science with technology.
The new center will focus on discovery chemistry, drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics, and precision medicine, bringing together scientists and technologists from across these areas.
Telangana Information Technology Minister D. Sridhar Babu said Amgen's investment reflects Hyderabad's growing role as a global hub for high-value research.
