Amgen Sales Rise 9%, Repatha Leads Charge
Amgen's second-quarter sales rose 9% year-over-year to $10.1 billion, driven by strong demand for cholesterol drug Repatha and other key growth drivers.
The biotech company reported adjusted earnings of $6.29 per share, up 4% from the same period last year, beating analyst expectations of $5.62 per share.
Repatha sales jumped 37% to $953 million, exceeding forecasts and solidifying its position as a leading PCSK9 inhibitor in the market.
Evenity sales also rose 38% to $714 million, beating analyst estimates of $645 million, while Uplizna sales increased 90% from last year's numbers.
However, Prolia sales fell 32% due to patent expirations and increased competition from generic alternatives.
