Amgen's Dazodalibep Shows Promising Results in Sjögren's Disease Trial
Amgen's (NASDAQ:AMGN) dazodalibep has shown promising results in its Phase 3 OASIZ 301 trial for patients with Sjögren's disease. The study met its primary endpoint, demonstrating a statistically significant and clinically meaningful improvement at 48 weeks using the EULAR Sjögren's Syndrome Disease Activity Index (ESSDAI).
The positive effects of dazodalibep treatment were noticeable as early as Week 4, with improvements maintained consistently until Week 48. The study's primary objective was to assess the efficacy of dazodalibep in adult patients suffering from Sjögren's disease accompanied by moderate-to-severe systemic disease activity.
Amgen intends to share comprehensive data from the OASIZ 301 study at a future medical conference, with another Phase 3 trial, OASIZ 303, projected to conclude in the fourth quarter of 2026. Analysts view the positive result as encouraging, given the historical difficulties in Sjögren's disease drug development.
