Amgen's Repatha Reduces Risk of Death in Patients at High Risk for First Heart Attack or Stroke. Amgen announced today that their medication, Repatha, has been shown to reduce the risk of death in patients at high risk for a first heart attack or stroke. This was found through clinical trials presented at the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congress 2026. The study revealed that Repatha significantly reduced the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events, including death from any cause, nonfatal myocardial infarction, and nonfatal stroke in patients with established atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease or multiple risk factors for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. This is significant as it provides further evidence of Repatha's efficacy in preventing cardiovascular events. According to the study, patients taking Repatha had a lower risk of death from any cause compared to those not taking the medication.
