AMZN Price Tumbles Despite Strong Earnings

Amazon's stock price has been under pressure lately, trading at $253.58 and pinned below its SMA 20. The company's Q2 2026 revenue of $200.6 billion, up 20% year-over-year, and AWS growth rate of 37% are not enough to save the stock from a short-term reckoning.

The bearish MACD setup and institutional investors' concerns about Amazon's $220 billion CapEx commitment for 2026 have contributed to the decline. However, Wall Street analysts remain optimistic, with an average 12-month target of approximately $328, representing roughly 29% upside from current levels.

The technical picture is not pretty in the immediate term, but it's not catastrophic either. The SMA 20 and SMA 50 are overhead resistance, while the SMA 200 acts as a bedrock floor. A short-term momentum shift attempting to form could lead to a rebound.
