Analysts Lower Fresenius Medical Care Targets Amid Growth Concerns
Goldman Sachs adjusted its outlook for Fresenius Medical Care (FMC) on September 30, 2026, lowering its price target from EUR 39.00 to EUR 38.00 while maintaining a Neutral rating. The bank cited limited expectations for treatment volume growth, though it forecast adjusted operating income of EUR 524.00 million ahead of the November 3, 2026, report.
This downgrade followed a more significant reduction by Berenberg on September 28, 2026, which cut its target from EUR 60.00 to EUR 42.00 and downgraded its rating from Buy to Hold. Analyst Harry Gillis highlighted fading organic growth impulses and potential reductions in Fresenius holdings.
Despite these mixed assessments, Fresenius Medical Care reported a 34 percent improvement in its underlying operating result for the first half of 2026, excluding positive TDAPA effects. The company attributed this growth to higher reimbursement rates and revenue-cycle management, while also confirming its 2026 outlook.
FMC stock saw a 1.52 percent increase, trading at EUR 40.20 on October 5, 2026, up from EUR 39.60 the prior close. The company’s expansion, including the availability of its 5008X CAREsystem in 227 US clinics, will be a key focus when it releases its third-quarter report on November 3, 2026.
