Andijan Airport Welcomes First Boeing 777-300F Cargo Flight from Belgium

Uzbekistan's Andijan Airport has marked another milestone in its growth as a major cargo hub, welcoming its first Boeing 777-300F flight on September 21. The aircraft, operated by Challenge Air Cargo, arrived from Liege, Belgium, carrying 150 head of breeding cattle weighing a combined 82.5 tons.

The cargo was unloaded efficiently, with airport specialists and relevant services working together to ensure veterinary inspections and transfers were carried out in line with safety requirements.

This is the second large cargo aircraft to land at Andijan Airport in two months, following a Boeing 747-400F flight also operated by Challenge Air Cargo on August 4. The two flights brought a total of 310 head of breeding cattle weighing 165.8 tons to Uzbekistan.

The airport's ability to handle modern wide-body cargo aircraft is thanks to the large-scale reconstruction of its airfield complex, completed in March 2025. The project included renovations to the runway, taxiways, apron, and aircraft parking areas.
