Android 17 QPR1 Troubles Pixel Owners with Performance Issues
Google's first major update to Android 17 has caused problems for many Pixel phone users. The Quarterly Platform Release 1 (QPR1), which began rolling out on September 15, was intended to address bugs and glitches in the original Android 17 release. However, it seems that QPR1 may not have been as clean an update as hoped.
According to a user poll conducted by Android Authority, more than two-thirds of respondents reported new problems since installing QPR1. The most common issues include performance problems, unexpected UI behavior, display glitches, connectivity failures, and other undesignated issues.
It's worth noting that the 68% of users experiencing issues is not necessarily representative of all Pixel owners. Polls are often skewed towards those with complaints. Nevertheless, it's a cause for concern in the rocky first few months of Android 17. Reports have surfaced of dropped Wi-Fi signals, display glitches, and other issues.
In the meantime, potential updaters may want to exercise caution when installing QPR1 on their Pixel phones.
