Android 17 QPR3 Beta 1 Brings Much-Needed Bug Fixes for Pixel Devices
Google has released Android 17 QPR3 Beta 1 as part of its next testing cycle, aiming to polish system performance rather than introducing flashy visual changes. This beta is available for Pixel devices, including the Pixel 6a, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 series, as well as the Pixel Tablet lineup.
The update focuses on fixing bugs that have affected daily use, making the OS feel more stable. Biometric security has received attention with fixes for a bug that froze devices when unlocking with the fingerprint sensor and a crash triggered by toggling the require eyes open setting in Face Unlock.
Connectivity and power management also receive improvements, resolving modem crashes, eSIM profile issues, and Wi-Fi connectivity problems. Camera functionality gets key fixes, including video calling apps no longer rotating camera feeds 90 degrees on external displays.
