Android Auto Overhauls Design with Material You
Android Auto has undergone significant changes in recent updates, transforming from a basic, high-contrast design to a more visually appealing and personalized interface. The introduction of Material You brought a fresh look to Android Auto, incorporating Monet theming that matches the colors of your phone's wallpaper.
The updated design also includes rounded square icons known as 'Squircle' style, further enhancing visual consistency across devices. However, some users initially missed the soft-blurred background feature that displayed album art for songs, which was removed to prioritize driver safety.
Despite this change, Google seems to be revisiting user feedback, with rumors suggesting a toggle will soon allow users to restore the album cover backgrounds. This latest iteration of Android Auto strives to strike a balance between aesthetics and driving safety.
