Android to Get Expanded Sensitive Content Warnings from Google
Google's Android operating system is working on integrating its Sensitive Content Warning (SCW) tool into the Photo Picker process, which could potentially expand to other apps.
The SCW tool is designed to identify and warn users about explicit images or videos before they are sent or viewed. Currently available in Google Messages, it automatically blurs sensitive content and gives users the option to manually remove the blur.
The expansion of the SCW tool could bring added protection to vulnerable individuals from seeing potentially harmful media. However, critics argue that this could be seen as too much interference by Google's systems presiding over what users see and consume.
