Animal Kingdom Rides at Risk: 67% of Attractions Vulnerable to Weather Closures

Disney's Animal Kingdom has a unique challenge when it comes to inclement weather. The park already has fewer traditional rides than its counterparts, such as Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. When outdoor operations are disrupted, four of the six available rides can become unavailable, leaving only two options: Avatar Flight of Passage and Na'vi River Journey.

Expedition Everest, Legend of the Forbidden Mountain, Kali River Rapids, Kilimanjaro Safaris, and the Wildlife Express Train are all vulnerable to outdoor conditions. If all four stop operating, Animal Kingdom temporarily loses approximately 67% of its traditional ride lineup.

This situation is more pronounced at Animal Kingdom than at other Walt Disney World parks, where there are numerous indoor attractions that can continue operating during bad weather. With fewer alternatives available, guests who arrive primarily for rides may need to adjust their plans quickly.
