Anna University and Boeing Team Up for Flammability Research Laboratory

Anna University in Chennai has partnered with Boeing India to establish a dedicated flammability research laboratory at the Madras Institute of Technology (MIT). The facility, funded by Boeing, will serve as an advanced testing and training centre for aerospace-related safety. This marks a significant step towards developing industry-ready talent in aerospace engineering.

The lab will focus on researching and testing materials' resistance to fire and heat exposure. This is crucial for ensuring compliance with international regulations, particularly those set by the United States and European Union.

'The facility will provide students with opportunities to develop advanced knowledge and hands-on skills in aerospace flammability,' said Anna University registrar V Kumaresan. Boeing experts will also take classes at MIT, further enhancing academic capabilities.
