Anthropic IPO Poised to Fuel Amazon and Alphabet's AI Ambitions
Anthropic's upcoming IPO is poised to be one of the largest in history, potentially surpassing SpaceX's record-breaking debut. The company's valuation is estimated to reach $2 trillion, with Nvidia investing $10 billion at a $2.3 trillion valuation, but Amazon and Alphabet are expected to reap significant benefits from the deal.
Amazon has invested $18 billion in Anthropic, with an additional $15 billion contingent on certain milestones, giving it an approximate 20% stake worth $190.4 billion. Alphabet has also made a substantial investment of $13.3 billion, with another $30 billion committed pending commercial benchmarks, placing its stake at nearly 13%.
The two tech giants' investments are not only expected to provide a significant payday when Anthropic goes public but also give them a strategic foothold in the AI industry. With Anthropic's rapid growth and increasing reliance on cloud computing services from Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud, both companies stand to benefit greatly.
