Anthropic Routs Half Its Sales Through Amazon and Google
Anthropic, an artificial intelligence developer, has revealed that it routed 47% of its sales through cloud partners Amazon and Google last year. The two companies collected around $351 million in distribution fees from Anthropic in 2025, amounting to about 16 cents for every dollar of sales through their cloud marketplaces, totaling approximately $2.16 billion.
The company's revenue jumped 12-fold in 2025 to nearly $4.6 billion, while operating losses more than doubled to exceed $8 billion. Anthropic's dependence on Amazon and Google has grown as revenue expanded, with sales through the two companies rising from 11% of revenue in 2023 to 32% in 2024, reaching nearly half last year.
Anthropic also acknowledged its reliance on a limited number of partners and suppliers creates complex dynamics that could give rise to conflicts of interest and adversely affect its access to computing resources. The company is seeking a valuation of about $2 trillion and plans to spend hundreds of billions of dollars in coming years to accelerate growth.
