Anthropic Taps Former AWS Exec Teresa Carlson as Global Head of Public Sector

Teresa Carlson has joined Anthropic as its Global Head of Public Sector. She will work closely with government leaders, customers, partners, and her colleagues to support their AI transformation efforts.

Carlson's career spans various roles in senior positions at Splunk, Flexport, Knightswan, Microsoft, and AWS. At AWS, she founded the Worldwide Public Sector in 2010 and served as its Vice President until leaving in 2023.

Anthropic has been involved in a high-profile dispute with the US government over access to its AI tools. The company partnered with the UK Government earlier this year to bring AI assistance to GOV.UK sites, but was labelled a 'supply chain risk' by the US government due to its refusal to grant unrestricted access.
