Major indices in the Asia-Pacific region traded mixed on Thursday as investors digested China's latest industrial profit figures and looked ahead to the Jackson Hole Economic Policy Symposium for clues on U.S. interest rates.
Nvidia shares rose more than 4% after the chipmaker reported quarterly results that exceeded analysts' expectations, with revenue more than doubling from a year ago.
China's industrial sector drew attention as official data showed profit growth slowing in July, with profits increasing by just 11.2% year-on-year, marking the weakest pace so far this year.
