Apple Ditches Big-Bang AI Approach for Deliberate Integration
Apple's (AAPL) AI strategy has been met with skepticism from Wall Street, but the company is taking a deliberate approach to integrating artificial intelligence into its existing ecosystem.
The world's second-most-valuable company has invested just $6.8 billion in capital expenditures over the last three fiscal quarters, which is a far cry from the hyperscalers' target of $800 billion this year.
Instead of engaging in an unprecedented data center build-out, Apple's primary goal is to boost the appeal of its products and services by integrating AI features within its existing ecosystem.
This approach has allowed Apple to preserve its robust free cash flow, which is expected to reach $143.7 billion in fiscal 2026 and $153.4 billion in fiscal 2027, according to consensus analyst estimates.
