Apple Enters Screenless Wearables Market
Apple is reportedly developing a screenless health tracker to compete with Whoop and other wearables. The prototype, created by Apple's Vision hardware team, features a minimalist design: a lightweight fabric strap with integrated sensors.
The project has the backing of top Apple executives, including Executive Chairman Tim Cook and services chief Eddy Cue. However, the device remains in an exploratory phase, and a potential consumer release is not expected before 2028.
This move reflects broader changes in the health ecosystem, where fast-growing rivals like Whoop and Oura Inc. have captured millions of users by offering streamlined, distraction-free health tracking.
