Apple Executive Sells $15.4 Million in Shares
Deirdre O’Brien, Apple’s Senior Vice President, sold $15.4 million worth of shares following the vesting of restricted stock units (RSUs). The transactions took place on October 2, 2026, under a pre-arranged trading plan. She sold 40,764 shares at an average price of $333.35 and an additional 5,625 shares at $333.91, totaling 46,389 shares.
The sales followed the vesting of 99,878 RSUs on October 1, 2026, which converted into common stock. The vesting was tied to Apple’s total shareholder return (TSR) performance over three years, with Apple’s 90.67% TSR ranking in the 76.20th percentile. Additionally, Apple withheld 53,489 shares to cover tax obligations related to the RSU vesting, valued at $17,668,486.
Meanwhile, Apple faces mixed investor sentiment. Morgan Stanley adjusted its price target down to $355 while maintaining an Overweight rating, citing limited upside despite an exciting product roadmap. In contrast, Needham reiterated a Hold rating, highlighting competitive risks from other companies. Morgan Stanley remains optimistic about demand for the iPhone 18, noting strong initial interest.
Apple is also involved in a UK consumer class action related to a 2018 sales agreement on Amazon’s UK marketplace. The UK’s Competition Appeal Tribunal has allowed the class action to proceed. Additionally, Bank of America has shifted its investment focus, downgrading Industrials and upgrading Healthcare stocks.
