Apple Eyes Screenless Fitness Tracker for 2028 Release
Apple is reportedly developing a screenless fitness tracker that could compete with devices from Whoop. The device, still in its early stages, would not be expected before 2028 if launched.
The prototype of this device includes a thin fabric band with a sensor-equipped module but no display, distinguishing it from Apple's Apple Watch. Apple executive chairman Tim Cook and services chief Eddy Cue have taken an interest in the project.
Apple is already a leading smartwatch maker, but companies like Whoop and Garmin have built products aimed at athletes and those seeking more specialized fitness tracking. If this new device comes to market, it would join these competitors.
