Apple's stock took a 1.1% hit to $324.66 on Friday, as a patent battle over Face ID technology reached the courts. The lawsuit, filed by trinamiX, claims Apple infringed on seven patents related to distinguishing real skin from fake materials.

The case spans multiple generations of iPhones and iPad Pro models, with trinamiX seeking unspecified damages and an injunction against further infringement.

Apple's financials show that its iPhones and iPads generated a combined $218.22 billion in revenue during the nine months ended June 27, accounting for 75% of total revenue.

Despite the legal cloud, Apple's stock remains 14.1% above its estimated value, indicating investors are willing to pay a premium for the company.
