Apple Foldable iPhone Predicted to Boost Sales Prices by 11%
Apple's upcoming foldable iPhone Ultra has drawn praise from analysts at Redburn, who forecast strong sales for the device in fiscal 2027. According to Timm Schulze-Melander, Apple's share price could benefit from the introduction of the foldable phone, which is expected to boost average selling prices by 11% by June 2027.
Redburn predicts that Apple will sell 14 million units of the iPhone Ultra in fiscal 2027, with only 4 million taken from existing iPhone sales. The device is priced at $2,199, an 83% premium to the iPhone 17 Pro Max. This suggests that the foldable phone will be a high-end product aimed at affluent consumers.
However, Redburn also highlights some risks associated with the introduction of the foldable iPhone Ultra. These include production delays, display crease visibility, and hinge durability. Additionally, a survey conducted by CNET in 2023 found that 64% of consumers did not want a foldable phone.
